4. Uncertainty management

Systems analysis stems from the uncertain nature of the parameters involved. This uncertainty can be addressed in two main ways, using probabilistic or possibilistic techniques .

4.1 Probabilistic view

Probabilistic analysis aims to evaluate the potential occurrence of a random event on a linear scale between 0 (impossible event) and 1 (certain event).
