7. Research specifics

As we said earlier, the research field has a number of specific features: research activities appear extremely varied and complex to formalize, while at the same time "products" and "customers" are not always clearly defined.

  • Process

    In a quality approach, the process approach consists in breaking down the various activities of a research unit into processes. The process map shown in figure 3 is an example of how to break down the organization of a research unit.
