In the table 1 , we have tried to characterize the approach or method cited: inductive or deductive, quantitative or qualitative, and its function. Beware, the latter can be very simplistic!

The distinction between approaches and methods is debatable. What we have described as methods is closely bound up with reasoning and formatting, whereas what we have described as approaches is characterized by a state of mind, an intellectual approach, but can take extremely varied forms, both in implementation and in the presentation of results.
