2. Current legislation and regulations

Occupational health and safety legislation and regulations derive mainly from the French Labor Code and its implementing regulations.

Other sources should also be mentioned:

  • the Social Security Code, in view of the role entrusted to the Regional Health Insurance Funds (CRAM) in occupational risk prevention;

  • legislation governing facilities classified for environmental protection;

  • legislation governing establishments open to the public.
