3. Theoretical basis for a repository
The diversity of taste is an obvious fact recognized by all philosophers and, more generally, by everyone. While accepting this obvious fact and respecting the freedom of each individual, we are seeking to go further and deepen the already numerous reflections on this question in order to clarify it and envisage posing it in such a way that the designer can situate himself and provide elements of a response.
An initial exploration of writings on aesthetics leads us to explore several disciplinary fields, such as philosophy, art history, design, ergonomics, psychology and sometimes, quite simply, dictionaries and encyclopedias. In other words, it's not long before you're entering a complex and imposing field. To find your way around, it's essential to clarify your point of view.
