5. Contact elements
5.1 Definition
When a part is positioned with a reference resting on a surface of a different nature (e.g. a plane resting on a cylinder), the shape, radii and position of these external contact elements must be defined in the nominal model.
Contact elements can be fixed or movable.
A contact element is described in a fine mixed line with double points by an ideal surface, positioned in the nominal model tangent to the nominal surface.
The contact element is designated by the letter of the reference followed by [CF] "contacting feature".
