7. Conclusion
This article shows that industrial needs are very diverse, and that the ISO language is potentially capable of meeting them very well. Published standards already largely cover traditional needs. New tools bring new functionalities to optimize dimensioning and maximize tolerances.
However, we need to keep an eye on developments in standards 2692 and 5459, mainly to validate the new wording for the dimension of the virtual state, and to decide which solution will be chosen: a surface associated with a default reference in nominal or offset position?
