6. Company control

6.1 Objectives

In road transport, there are four main regulations to be checked on the road or at company headquarters: social regulations, transport regulations, the Highway Code and regulations governing the transport of hazardous materials.

In order to avoid distortion of competition, regular checks must be carried out on all vehicles and drivers, whether resident or non-resident, without discrimination. Own-account vehicles are inspected in the same way as third-party vehicles, whether French or foreign.

If the offender is unable to provide proof of residence or address in France, enforcement officers may require him/her to immediately pay part of any fine imposed, and to obtain reimbursement if the offence is ultimately dismissed,...
