4. Specific regulations

In addition to the rules applicable to forklifts in general [A 9 210] , all-terrain forklifts are subject to special rules designed to take account of their use on undeveloped terrain.

4.1 Construction

European standards EN 1726 for masted forklift-trucks and EN 1456 for variable-reach forklift-trucks define the construction rules for all-terrain forklift-trucks and, in particular, the stability tests they must undergo before being placed on the market.

The principle of stability testing is the same as that described above. for industrial trucks, but the platform inclination angles are greater to take account of the greater risk of overturning....
