4. Conclusion: traceability, more a "positive" tool for the environment and sustainable development than elsewhere
The distinction between safety and positive is formal and necessary to show how a traceability system can add value to itself. We've moved on from human safety to environmental protection and sustainable development, and it's clear that this shift is relevant, as it naturally allows us to associate profitability with the enhancement of traceability, which is so often difficult and complex in the case of human safety. This may seem paradoxical on the surface, but in our view it's not. At the origin of this notion, traceability was an industrial tool, whose interest and value were quite obvious, because it was a tool for internal use necessary to the processes.
