The development of the Traceability Division has followed the development of traceability applications:
traceability of services and traceability of people have been added to traceability of goods;
RFID technology, originally conceived as a replacement for the linear barcode, has now been joined by a whole range of information gathering and support technologies, including 2D matrix codes, magnetic codes, digital codes, hybrid systems, nanotracers, synthetic DNA, etc;
the integration of traceability into the information system has led to the addition of the middleware level of traceability solutions to the mere collection of information.
