5. Conclusion
Launched by IATA as part of its Symplifying the Business program in 2004, RFID has gradually become just another tool for improving baggage performance.
In air transport, we're seeing a gradual adoption of RFID, rather than a big bang. Some airports have included RFID in their five-year vision of infrastructure development, because they see the technology as a promising opportunity. Others, on the other hand, will limit their implementation to the installation of RFID baggage tag printers to supply the hubs of their client airlines.
