1. Elements of statistical thermodynamics

Statistical thermodynamics is just one part of statistical mechanics, which itself has its foundations in classical and quantum mechanics (see specialized articles in this treatise). It is established by introducing the temperature variable to move from mechanical equilibrium to thermomechanical equilibrium.
