1. Development of solid-state lasers

1.1 Favorable factors

The main objective is to find new luminescent materials emitting in the optical range (ultraviolet, visible and near infrared) either in the form of fine lines for lasers with fixed wavelengths, or in the form of broad bands for lasers with tunable wavelengths. The main compact sources developed are either continuous or pulsed, currently reaching the femtosecond range (10 –15 s), with increased use of diode-pumped lasers in the near infrared, and with the aim of using diodes emitting in the visible, blue and ultraviolet ranges in the future.
