Pattern recognition is both a historical discipline in artificial intelligence and an extremely dynamic field of research that has been influenced by many different scientific fields over the last thirty years. Today, it is an integral part of machine learning, to which it has contributed many ideas and methods, and covers a wide spectrum of applications.
Today, there are "automatic" toolboxes that allow you to use RDF techniques without being a specialist, but they remain of limited reliability. The design of RDF systems is still today a domain reserved for insiders, who must have skills in statistics, numerical learning and optimization.
