6. General conclusion
In this article, we have described some significant advances in the field of terahertz science. Terahertz waves are proving to be a promising field for industrial applications. In the coming years, mastery of optical and microelectronic technologies should result in the development of portable devices for fields as varied as medicine, the military, civil security and the world of industrial non-destructive and non-contact testing. This list is not exhaustive, as other scientific fields will benefit from the technical and digital advances of this rapidly expanding field. These include the fields of art and archaeometry, construction, agri-food and so on.
