Particle Size Distribution; Distribution de taille de particules

A powder sample passes through a series of vibrating sieves, each with a progressively smaller mesh. The quantity on each sieve is then measured and plotted on a graph; the "Pan" corresponds to what remains when the powder has passed through all the sieves.

Particle size; Taille de particule

Measured in μm in the international system, and in "mesh" in the American system. Example: a 45 μm sieve corresponds to 325 mesh; a 500 μm sieve corresponds to 35 mesh.

Additive manufacturing; Additive Layer Manufacturing

A manufacturing technique that uses the power of a laser or electron beam to melt the trace of the object to be produced into a layer of metal powder. Repetition of the layers produces the object....
