2. Technical description of the innovation

2.1 Centrifugal gravimetric separation: field of application

Gravimetric separation is a physical processing technique that uses the difference in density between two particles to separate them. Segregation is achieved by differences in sedimentation/migration properties between the particles. The output products are a fraction concentrating the densest particles (known as the "heavy" fraction) and a fraction concentrating the least dense particles (known as the "light" fraction) .
