5. Conclusion
The CDMS technique has undergone impressive instrumental development over the last ten years. This cutting-edge instrumental development has a unifying character, mobilizing all scientific and technical skills to meet mechanical and electronic challenges. In particular, the development of electronic amplifiers equipped with filters with detection limits lower than any current commercial assembly, and the development of IT tools combining acquisition, automation and signal processing are two outstanding examples. The original and innovative character, flexibility and versatility, and relative simplicity of design and use, offer and will offer scientific as well as socio-economic spin-offs. Jarrold and his colleague, Indiana University professor David Clemmer, have founded a company called "Megadalton Solutions" to carry out virus analysis using the CDMS technique.
