5.1 Introduction

The use of modeling in practice has been the subject of much research and associated publications. We will be looking at the process of creating a model for an existing process, in order to provide a predictive tool for optimizing operation or forecasting process expansion.

The proposed procedures could be adapted to use modeling for sizing new plants.
