6. Conclusion
Like global warming, halting the destruction of biodiversity that has been underway for several years now is a major challenge. It's a challenge that must be met by humanity as a whole, if we are to preserve our well-being in the near future. From now on, mankind must understand that nature is not a commodity to be exploited without limit. This requires us to question our current mode of development, whose effects on the biosphere and natural resources are catastrophic. It also means considering ecology as a genuine science, a vector for progress in our societies.
