Bioindicator

Organism or group of organisms whose presence or state provides information on certain ecological characteristics (i.e. physicochemical, pedological, microclimatic, biological or functional) of an ecosystem or on the impact of natural or induced modifications.

Drilosphere

Substrate sphere of influence linked to earthworm bioturbation activities (creation of aggregates and galleries).

Capillary water

Water held in a porous medium, generally above a free surface, under the effect of capillary forces, and subjected to a pressure below atmospheric pressure.

Gravity water

Water drained through soil by gravitational action and readily available to plants and other soil-dwelling organisms.
