2. Installation of an adsorption-ozonation treatment unit

2.1 Operating principle

The process is designed to continuously treat VOC-laden air in a single reactor at ambient pressure and temperature. The process developed combines an adsorption phase, during which VOCs are continuously trapped in the mineral porous solid matrix, and a sequential material regeneration phase, carried out by oxidation via an ozonated air stream (figure 1 ). In addition, the concentration of pollutants in the pores of the solid promotes reaction kinetics in the case of compounds that are difficult to oxidize. Moreover, since oxidation takes place at room temperature, the formation of toxic by-products (nitrogen oxides and dioxins) can be avoided....
