8. Conclusion: a first step
This inventory, which is by no means exhaustive, leads to two observations.
The concept of sustainable development appears particularly useful for articulating different constructive solutions in a progressive manner. On the contrary, it allows us to consider technical design as a combination of choices that must be graduated according to the project context. In this way, the emphasis is placed on the responsibility of the decision-maker, who must seek a satisfactory solution each time, rather than the definitive solution. The building is not just a physical object, but also a system interacting with the end user. In this sense, design is above all about anticipation.
