2. Prefectoral declaration with periodic inspection DC
Article L. 512-11 of the French Environment Code stipulates that certain categories of classified installations subject to declaration may be subject to periodic inspections by external approved bodies.
This special feature of the declaration system was introduced into the law in 2009, to enable better monitoring of certain declared facilities presenting greater environmental risks, even though the inspectorate for classified facilities does not have the capacity to monitor and control all facilities subject to declaration.
The general principles of these controls are as follows:
