3. Imprecision analysis

3.1 Interval theory approach

We consider the simplest analysis formalism in relation to the content and quantity of the available information, namely interval theory. Since imprecision only concerns the data, intervals of variation of the values of each retained data item are defined and then processed using the relevant classical arithmetic operators. The mathematical axioms and exhaustive examples concerning interval definition and calculation are well known and commonly used
