4.1 Emission factors
Emissions factors are multiplying coefficients used to calculate (with a certain margin of error) the quantity of greenhouse gases emitted by a human activity: they thus convert activity data into GHG emissions.
The Bilan Carbone calculation tool ® offers a large number of emission factors, and its "Guide to emission factors" explains how to calculate these factors, their sources and associated uncertainties.
