6. Other activities

In line with developments in European legislation, as well as issues not covered by such legislation, the AASQAs have been led to develop a range of monitoring activities, such as sedimentable and wet deposition or persistent organic pollutants (POPs).

6.1 Spin-off sampling

Some AASQAs operate regional deposition monitoring networks, to determine total soluble and insoluble mass, and/or to measure specific fallout. Three types of instrument are used:

  • Sedimentation gauge for total deposition (standard NF X 43-014 [35] ).
