1972 – Stop growth report
In 1972, the Club of Rome, a think-tank bringing together scientists, economists and senior civil servants, advocated a new growth model: zero growth, with the publication of the report The Limits To Growth. The report exposes the imperfections of the current economic model, due to the finite nature of raw materials and energy resources, and the accumulation of environmental damage.
