Last mile

The last segment in the transport and delivery chain, linking the last warehouse visited by a shipment of goods before delivery to the consignee.

Storage warehouse

An enclosed area where goods are concentrated and/or broken down, with or without storage. The French urban planning code specifies the definition, which includes "all buildings intended for logistics, storage or warehousing of goods without a sales area, permanent points for delivery or delivery and collection of retail purchases ordered by telematic means, as well as premises housing data centers".
