6. Conclusion
An ancestral practice that disappeared from cities in developed countries with the advent of centralized drinking water networks, the use of rainwater has been enjoying renewed interest and vitality in urban areas for the past twenty years. Although in France, from a regulatory point of view, the scope of rainwater harvesting is still fairly limited, both in terms of the conditions under which it is produced and the uses to which it is put, this practice could undergo significant change in the years to come, due to the increasingly pressing need to make cities more resilient to climate change, both in terms of water supply security and protection against flooding. Following the example of experience abroad, these changes could affect two aspects in particular.
