In terms of future prospects, this work highlights the need for further experiments to provide a framework for taking contamination into account in urban vegetable gardens, and to support their sustainable management.
It would be useful for risk assessors to produce a best practice guide covering the various aspects of the Potex methodology, taking into account national feedback. This guide could also cover legal and communication aspects.
To facilitate the use and comparison of results, it is essential that environmental laboratories standardize their plant preparation and analysis practices.
