5.1 Acceptability of the technology

By 2023, the over-75s will represent 10% of the French population - a crucial socio-medical and economic challenge for our society. Their distribution is uneven, particularly in isolated mountain areas where the proportion of over-75s can be as high as 13% (figure 33 ). It's in these areas with aging demographics that digital tools are most needed, but often least easy to use, due to the digital divide caused by generational barriers in education and usage.
