3. Costs of climate change

The effects of climate change are being felt all over the planet, but depending on the region, these impacts can be more or less intense. According to the UN's scientific panel, the IPCC, climate change could lead to :

  • an increase in the number and severity of extreme weather events (heatwaves, floods, droughts, cyclones);

  • declining biodiversity (20-30% of plant and animal species threatened with extinction);
