4. Thinking about the co-evolution of new socio-technical systems
Even if the scientific foundations of Hy-PACs are long-established, when we envisage a transformation of the mobility system via Hy-PAC vehicles, we are actually talking about system innovations, i.e. innovations that bring about a genuine paradigm shift in the way mobility is conceived and experienced. This goes far beyond the development of adaptive technological solutions, which are often not truly transformative.
In the process of societal transformation represented by the transition to a sustainable mobility model, a general dynamic is emerging between technology, society and people, including the latter's ecological awareness. These elements are bound to evolve together, in other words, to co-evolve.
