We can see that renewable resources are more than sufficient to meet our needs, particularly in terms of electrical energy, and that there are many solutions available, with many niches to be exploited. The competitiveness of new technologies is improving as experience is gained and cumulative production increases, and it is reasonable to assume that no further subsidies will be needed by 2020.
