Sobriety; Suffiency

Questions the level of consumption of digital goods and services, and the limit beyond which their expansion is undesirable, given its implications for the planet and its inhabitants.

Efficiency ; Efficacy ; Effectiveness

In the debate evoked in this article, efficiency measures the propensity of a digital technology to achieve a goal with less ecological impact, when compared to another solution (for example, when a generation of processors or screens consumes less than the previous one, for the same service rendered).

In other contexts, efficiency refers to the propensity to achieve a goal (a tool is efficient because it produces the expected effect...).
