5. Use of test results

5.1 Hardware evolution cycle

To fully understand the benefits of vibration testing, it makes sense to situate it within the cycle that a piece of equipment undergoes throughout its life (figure 28 ).

  • The first phase is product development: the equipment is designed and built. In the case of expensive equipment, it is common practice to build a representative structural model of the structure, so that its dynamic behavior can be determined without risk.
