3. Methods for reducing noise levels in industrial environments

In parallel with the standardization work carried out in connection with European regulations, traditional standardization activity continued on other technical aspects of noise in the workplace. European standards, not harmonized under a directive, have been prepared. They cover the following subjects

  • design of low-noise workplaces (EN ISO 11690 parts 1 to 3). Part 3 deals with the prediction of noise levels in the workplace, a subject of great importance to occupational health and safety, on which considerable progress has been made over the last twenty years;
