2. Physico-chemical aspects

Certain types of premises require chemical air treatment:

  • by ionization to make the air healthier;

  • by irradiation to destroy micro-organisms;

  • by chemical drying to lower the moisture content.

Ionization and ultraviolet treatment are increasingly being replaced in cleanrooms by high air renewal and very fine filtration (absolute filters).

2.1 Ionization
