6.1 Manufacturing application

  • Old architecture (figure 13 )

    A machine for a manufacturing application consisted of 10 modules, each comprising 10 actuators. These actuators performed adjustment functions to adapt the machine to the type of product being produced.

    A change of production series required individual adjustment of each actuator. Each axis was set one after the other by manual on/off control. Position control was visual. The adjustment movement was made at low speed, until it came...
