4.1 Description of an automatic system

The overall function of an automatic system (note 2) is to add value to a set of goods in a given environment (figure 1 ).

Note :

the notion of automated production systems (mechanized then automated systems) is gradually being replaced by that of automatic systems, insofar as the systems considered are designed from the outset of the development project as incorporating automation. What's more, they are not limited to production.
