2. Voltammetry by redissolution
Redissolution analysis is generally dealt with in the context of polarography (see the corresponding article in the treatise and references ). We will return to this subject here only to clarify certain points concerning solid electrodes and to present a few examples of application. It should be remembered, however, that the principle of the technique comprises two successive stages. First, material is deposited on (or in) the electrode by controlled-potential electrolysis carried out under well-defined conditions (agitation, electrolysis time, temperature, etc.). Then, after a short rest period, redissolution takes place by imposing a suitable potential sweep, while the intensity of the current flowing through the electrode is recorded as a function of time.
