5. Importance of R&D
Climate change is also, and above all, a technological problem. Any economic activity (production, transport, heating, etc.) that requires the use of fossil fuels generates GHGs. To reverse this trend – decouple the trajectories between economic growth and GHG emissions –, the economy will need, for example, to massively develop non-carbon or CO 2 capture (CCS) technologies.
