5. Conclusion
In this article, the main aspects of microwave spectroscopy have been presented, focusing on experimental techniques. In particular, the Fourier transform microwave pulse spectrometerFTMW coupled to a supersonic jet has been introduced to give the reader an idea of one of the world's most widely used techniques for recording pure rotation spectra. This type of spectrometer achieves very high resolutions and sensitivities. Spectrum recording over a wide frequency range (a few hundred MHz) typically takes several hours. Technological developments over the past twenty years have led to the development of another type of spectrometer, the CP-FTMW frequency drift microwave pulse spectrometer.
