6.1 Options
The standard considers two situations, depending on whether the laboratory falls within the scope of certification ISO 9001 or not. If yes, the system is considered to meet at least the objectives of the requirements in this chapter (option B in the ISO/IEC 17025 ). This does not mean, however, that it fully complies with these requirements. Indeed, even if the wording of the two standards is fairly similar in the chapters of this section, the ISO/IEC 17025 contains a number of laboratory-specific features.
