4. Data needed to compare LE with source emissions
To compare LE with source emissions, information is needed about the emitter (light source) and the receiver (person under consideration), as well as their relative positions. The source characteristics required for a quantitative assessment are listed in Table 9 and the environmental characteristics in Table 10 . For simplicity's sake, the emitting and receiving surfaces are considered to be flat (and facing each other).
