2. Mission scenario

The juxtaposed conics method highlights the phenomenon of gravitational assistance, which provides "free" speed gains in heliocentric reference frames. Propulsive maneuvers are required when gravitational assistance is insufficient. This section presents the concepts used for the preliminary optimization of an interplanetary mission scenario.
