3. Aircraft noise certification

3.1 The role of aviation standards

First and foremost, it should be emphasized that the drafting of regulations generally requires in-depth knowledge of the subject and skilled know-how.

The law must, of course, cap noise levels if there is a risk of hearing damage. This is the case in the world of work. When noise cannot be sufficiently reduced with the current state of the art, the daily exposure time is limited and ear protection must be worn. The problem is more delicate when it comes to preserving the environment, where the health repercussions of noise pollution are still the subject of controversy
