8. Conclusion

Under the pressure of an ever-increasing regulatory framework built on fatal dysfunctions, and the demands of increasingly well-informed patients and their families, healthcare professionals can no longer envisage simple product or process traceability, but must change their paradigm. Hospitals must develop a genuine therapeutic care circuit (in the broadest sense of the term) for patients, alongside their hotel care, all open to the outside world. In this way, traceability will become a genuine management tool in the service of patient health and safety.
